Gary and Sandra Moyer

Gary B. Moyer, 71, and his wife, Sandra L. (Haas) Moyer, 67, of Colebrookedale Township, both passed away on February 16, 2025, after spending the last 55 years together.

Gary was born in Pottstown and was a son of the late Earl Moyer and Mildred (Snyder) Moyer; and Sandra was born in Reading and was a daughter of the late Ralph and Betty (Gilbert) Haas.

High school sweethearts, Gary and Sandra were graduates of Boyertown High School. They went on to marry on Sept 10, 1977. 

Gary was employed with Boyertown School District, in grounds maintenance, for 15 years, retiring in 2023. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed spending time at a friends

cabin. He loved scrapping and spending time tinkering in his garage. Gary was a member of Liberty and Bechtelsville (Eastern Berks) Fire Companies.

Sandra was employed as a seamstress with Flagzone for the last 10 years, retiring in 2024. Before that she was employed by the family seafood business where she and Gary loved hosting clambakes.

She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Liberty Fire Company; she enjoyed cooking, baking, flower gardens, her koi fish pond and frequent trip to the cabin.

Together, Gary and Sandra had three children: Lisa Schrum, wife of Justin of Mohrsville; Beth Hensley, wife of Larry of Maidencreek Township; and Scott Moyer of Boyertown.

They are also survived by their three grandchildren, Kirsten, Ethan, and Logan; and their three great grandchildren, Jaxon, Kaydin, and Jaymin.

Gary is also survived by his four siblings: Sharon Wessner husband of Dennis of Greshville; Ronald Moyer, husband of Marylou of Womelsdorf; Carol Wisniewski, wife of Chet of Boyertown; and Mahlon Moyer, husband of Bonnie of Gilbertsville and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Sandra is also survived by her five siblings: Raymond Haas, husband of Retha of Coralville, IA; Eugene Haas of Outer Banks, NC; Cindy Richard, wife of Ralph of Oley;

Mary Treffinger, wife of Michael of Rock Hall Maryland; and Robert Haas of Oley. She also has many nieces, nephews and cousins. 

A Celebration of Life will be held, to honor Gary and Sandra, on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at 10 a.m. at Stitzel Family Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 423 Main Street, Oley.
