George Albert York

George Albert York, 75 of Summit Hill, passed away March 29, 2024 in St. Luke’s Bethlehem. He was the husband of the late Patricia Marie (Boyle) York, who passed away in 2022. 

Born April 3, 1948, in Coaldale, PA, he was the son of George York, Sr. and Rose “Tootsie” (Sommers) York.

George was employed by Coaldale State Hospital and the Pennsylvania Welfare Department. He also worked at Walmart before retiring.

He was a member of St. Joseph of the Panther Valley Catholic Church, Summit Hill. 

George was an avid Notre Dame and Phillies fan. 

He is survived by his two children: Daniel York and Sharon York of Summit Hill; a niece; Katelyn Candiello of Lititz; Brother in Laws; Walter Boyle and Vincent Candiello and one aunt; Eva Sommers.

He was preceded in death by his sister; Roseann Candiello.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday , April 5th at 11am at St. Joseph of the Panther Valley Church, 462 West Ludlow Street, Summit Hill, PA.  A viewing will be held in church from 10-11am. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bloomingdale.
