Gerald J. Liszcz, 88, of Maidencreek Township, passed away peacefully at his residence on May 10, 2025.
He was the loving husband of Nancy L. (Dastra) Liszcz.
Born January 26, 1937, in Reading, he was a son of the late John E. and Mary (Hasulak) Liszcz.
Gerald was a 1955 graduate of Reading High School and went on to serve his country in the U.S. Air Force.
Following his military service, Gerald began his career building trailers with Brown Trailers where he was employed for 15 years. He also worked for the City of Reading Parks Department as well as in maintenance for the Reading Eagle for over 20 years before his retirement.
Gerald loved to go shopping, listening to polka music, and spending time with his family, especially on Sundays.
He is survived by his three daughters: Mary Jo, wife of James Muckey of Wernersville; Geri Lynn Liszcz of Maidencreek Township; and Cathy Liszcz of Maidencreek Township.
In addition, he is survived by his two grandchildren: Maya and Ty; and by his sister Frances Michalowski of Maidencreek Township.
Gerald was predeceased by his two siblings, Sonia Liszcz and Ronald Liszcz, Sr.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, May 16th at 1 p.m. at Holy Guardian Angels R.C. Church, 3121 Kutztown Road, Reading. A viewing will be held from 11 am - 12:30 pm at Stitzel Family Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale. Burial will be at Gethsemane Cemetery, Muhlenberg Township.
