Gerald Anthony “Gerry” Sarge, 70, passed away May 9, 2024, in his Spring Township home.
He was the husband of Mary Ann (Squillace) Sarge for 22 wonderful years. He was truly devoted to Mary Ann and spoiled her to no end.
Born April 9, 1954, in Shillington, he was the son of the late Anthony and Mary (Beretsky) Sarge.
Gerry was a 1972 graduate of Governor Mifflin High School.
He was employed with Volvo, designing and building chassis for commercial vehicles for many years. Subsequently, he was employed as a salesman and manager for various car dealerships. He last worked in September of 2023 as a property manager of Kings 625 Self Storage in Mohnton.
Gerry was a member of St. John Baptist de la Salle Roman Catholic Church, Shillington.
He was a member of Lincoln Park Fire Company; he loved NASCAR, the Philadelphia Eagles, and was an avid Yankees fan. He had a passion for photography, and enjoyed camping, and traveling to the mountains and Cape May.
Gerry was a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are his two stepsons: Andrew J. Angstadt, husband of Nicole. L. of Exeter Township and Joseph P. Angstadt of Forrest City, PA; and his two step grandchildren: Tyler Readinger, husband of Danielle and Suzanna Angstadt.
Gerry’s heart of gold, sprinkled with sarcastic humor, will be incredibly missed. He was a man on a mission and always had his wife and family as his top priority.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, May 17, 2024 at 11:30 am at the Chapel of Resurrection, Gethsemane Cemetery, 3139 Kutztown Rd, Reading, PA 19605.
A viewing will be held from 10-11 am at Stitzel Funeral Home, 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale PA 19605.
Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery, Muhlenberg Township.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to : St. John Baptist de la Salle Church, 42 Kerrick Road, Shillington, PA 19607.
