Gordon Carl Rogers, 82, of Reading, and formerly of Laureldale, died October 12, 2023, at Penn State Health – St. Joseph.
He was the loving husband of Carol Ann (Weidner) Rogers, with whom he shared 60 years of marriage.
Born December 29, 1940, he was a son of the late William Henry and Mildred T. (Hoffert) Rogers.
Gordon was a 1958 graduate of Muhlenberg High School.
He was employed as a delivery driver with York Beauty Supply for many years. Subsequently, he was a cook at Schell’s Drive-In, Temple, for almost 30 years, retiring in 2020.
Gordon was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church, Laureldale.
He was also a member of Muhlenberg Lion’s Club.
Gordon enjoyed auto racing, and he simply just loved life.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are his two children: Jay A. Rogers, husband of Lee of Reading, and Linda M. Rogers of Reading; and his grandson, Kane Rogers.
Also surviving is his sister, Carol Lerch of Laureldale.
Gordon was preceded in death by a sister, Joan Hageter.
Services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Stitzel Family Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale. Viewings will be held Thursday evening from 5-7 p.m. and Friday morning from 10-11. Burial will be in Laureldale Cemetery, Muhlenberg Township.
