Harriett A. Clark

Harriett A. Clark, 94 years, passed away Thursday, January 13th, 2022, at ProMedica Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation after a two-week stay.  Although she resided in Laureldale for the past twenty years, home was the Clark Family farm in Irish Valley, Paxinos, PA.  Harriett was born in Shamokin, on March 28, 1927, to Peter J. and Mina L. (Morningwake) Clark.  She was a graduate of Shamokin High School and employed as a supervisor in the Northumberland County Employment office for 46 years, until her retirement in 1991.

Harriett was the beloved aunt of her niece, Deborah Kopetsky, nephews Geoffrey Clark, Leonard Kopetsky, and Brian Kopetsky.  Her extended family includes grandnieces, Jennifer Ermler, Elisha Zimmerman, Hannah Clark, Amanda Kopetsky Fultz and Sarah Kopetsky; grandnephews Aaron and Jared Kopetsky.  

She was predeceased by her brother George C. Clark, sisters Jacqueline W. Clark and M. Alice Kopetsky, as well as her fiancé Joel O. Mattern.  

Harriett lived a long and blessed life, and she was thankful for the kindness of her neighbors and friends Mary Ellen Williams, and Steve and Amy Baker Williams.  A special shout out to her personal trainer Art White, who helped keep her moving all those years.  Thank you to Comfort Keepers and Compassus for their care and support during the past month.

A viewing and service will be held on Thursday, January 20th, 2022, at 6:00 P.M., at Stitzel Family Funeral Home, 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale, PA.  Burial will take place at the convenience of the family, at Irish Valley Summit Cemetery, Paxinos, PA.
