Hazel Virginia (Rutherford) Allgyer

Hazel Virginia (Rutherford) Allgyer, 86, died July 4, 2021 at Lutheran Home at Topton, Longswamp Township.

She was the loving wife of David S. Allgyer, to whom she was married October 4, 1952.

Born, September 27, 1934, in Douglassville, she was a daughter of the late Brinton S. Rutherford and Salome I. (Updegrove), wife of Clayton Hornberger.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, are her three daughters: Barbara J., wife of Michael L. Boyer of Greenwich Township; Mary Sue Hoch of Florence, SC; and Jodi M., wife of Michael E. Blatt of Kutztown.

Other survivors include her six grandchildren: Lisa, Heather, Jackie, Jonathan, Tina and Evan; and her eight great grandchildren: Hunter, Donald, Chalisse, Wyatt, Mason, Madison, Madeline and Achaia.

In addition, Hazel is survived by three siblings: Kenneth Rutherford of Morgantown, Carol Hojecki of Boyertown, and Shirley Moyer of Barto.

Hazel was preceded in death by three brothers: Brinton Rutherford, Richard Rutherford, and Raymond Haller. 

Services will be Thursday, July 8th at 11 a.m. at Stitzel Family Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 423 Main Street, Oley.  A viewing will be held from 10-11 a.m. in the funeral home.  Burial will take place in Frieden’s Cemetery, Oley.
