Henry F. “Butch” Sharp, Jr., 79, died August 30, 2022 in his South Heidelberg Township residence, surrounded by his loving family.
He was the loving husband of Cynthia J. (Haines) Sharp, with whom he shared 33 years of marriage.
Born January 29, 1943, in Camden, NJ, he was a son of the late Henry Franklin Sharp, Sr. and Doris Ethel (Klinger) Sharp.
Henry grew up in South Temple and attended Muhlenberg High School. He graduated from Schuylkill Valley High School in 1960. He then went on to attend McCann School of Business.
He was employed his entire career in production; having worked for Goodman Vending, Bortz Chocolate, F&M Hat Co., C.A. Bernheiser, Inc. and Threshold, where he retired from in 2006.
A member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Muhlenberg Township, he served two years in the Northeast British Mission.
Henry was voted outstanding magician’s assistant in the Eastern United States for his work with Enrico the Magnificent.
He enjoyed watching the Philadelphia Phillies, NASCAR, and listening to the Beatles.
Henry supported his daughters in gymnastics, coached his sons in Conrad Weiser Little League and enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s recitals, plays and sporting events.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are his five children: Gretchen S. (Sharp), wife of John W. Bonte of Temple; Shannon M. (Sharp), wife of Allen B. Dillman of Bern Township; Alison S. (Sharp), wife of Kevin M. Walker of Muhlenberg Township; Seth A., husband of Jazmin N. (Ford) Sharp of South Heidelberg Township; and Sutton C. Sharp of South Heidelberg Township.
Other survivors include his seven grandchildren: Jordan and Devynne Bonte, Alex, husband of Hayley Dillman, Brian Dillman, Brianna and Taylor Walker, and Jase Henry Sharp; and one great granddaughter, Ava Walker.
Henry was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Samantha Bonte.
Services will be held Wednesday, September 7th at 10 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 3344 Reading Crest Ave., Muhlenberg Township. A viewing will be held from 8:30 a.m. - 10 a.m. in the church. Burial will be in Sinking Spring Cemetery.
