Herbert Leroy Dietrich, Jr., “Junior”, 77, passed away peacefully, on his birthday, April 22, 2023 in his Temple residence, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Herbert L. Dietrich, Sr. and Mary (Natale) Dietrich.
He was the loving husband of Kathy A. (Angstadt) Dietrich, with whom he shared 30 years of marriage.
Junior was employed with H.E. Fortna Brothers, West Reading, as a parts coordinator, before becoming the owner and operator of Burger Café, at the Vanity Fair Food Court. He retired from Advanced Personnel, where he worked in their transportation department.
Herb loved caring for his beloved dogs and koi pond. He was also an avid fisherman.
Junior loved breakfasting with his friends. Family and friends were everything to him.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are his three children: Erica L., wife of Christian Fisher of Lancaster; Meggan M., wife of Jeremy Landis of Wernersville; and Herbert L. Dietrich, III. of Pottsville.
Other survivors include his five grandchildren: Courtney Crawford, Aidan Fisher, Noah Fisher, Gabriel Landis, and Bella Landis; and two great grandchildren, Tyce and Zayden Crawford.
He is also survived by his sister, Patricia, wife of Barry Mowery of Lower Alsace Township.
Junior was preceded in death by a daughter, Stacey Dietrich; his grandson, Tyler Dietrich; and by two brothers, Ronald Natale and Vincent Dietrich.
A Prayer Service will be held Thursday, April 27th at 11 a.m. at Stitzel Family Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale. A visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
