Hilda (Leibold) Palmer of Laureldale, PA.
Born November 14, 1927 in Newside, PA, she was the daughter of the late Paul O. and Roma M. (Layton) Leibold. She lived in Laureldale/Reading, PA all her life and most recently resided at Keystone Villa at Fleetwood, Blandon, PA.
She was the wife of Walter Sterling Palmer who passed away December 2, 1999. They were married 48 years.
Hilda was a 1945 graduate of Muhlenberg Township High School, and a member of Calvary Evangelical Lutheran Church, Laureldale, PA., where Hilda taught Sunday School for many years.
Hilda was neighborhood Commissioner, worked on Polls. She was Minority Inspector at the voting poll. She voted continuously for 50 years for which she received an award. She also, worked as Integrity Seaming and Looping at Rosedale Knitting Mills, Laureldale, PA. She also worked at Highlander Cafeteria at the Berkshire Mall, Reading, PA, for 13 1/2 years, and receives a retirement from them via McCrory McMillan and Green. She also worked a few years at Regency News and Cards in the Muhlenberg Shopping Center, Laureldale, PA.
Hilda provided transportation for medical appointments etc. for seniors. She also provided companionship visits for two senior women for several hours every other week, until their passing.
Hilda loved to travel, having been to England, Wales and Scotland twice. Walked on walled Chester City, Germany. Austria, Switzerland, Egypt. Sailed on Nile River, City of Alexandria. One month pop up camper trip to California and back to PA. 40 years trips to Jackson, WY to visit daughter, Shirley A. (Frederick) Lutz.
She is survived by her brother Irvin H. Leibold (Linda) Slatington, PA. Three Daughters, Darlene Fay Kepley and Donna Marie (Ronald) Garber and Shirley Ann (Frederick) Lutz. Hilda leaves 9 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchilden.
Hilda was predeceased by sister, Irma L. Finn, brothers, Lawrence O., Lloyd L., Raymond P., and Lester L. Leibold. Also son, John Franklin Palmer, and Son-in-Law, Wayne C. Kepley.
