Irene Josephine (Kulasinski) Houck

Irene Josephine Houck, 96, of Wernersville, passed away Tuesday, March 14th, 2023 at Reading Hospital - Tower Health.

Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Josephine (Malinowski) Kulasinski.

Irene was a member of St. Peter the Apostle R.C. Church. She was very active with the church.

She was employed as a tire builder at Firestone Tires, Pottstown, for 47 years, retiring in 1991.

Irene loved knitting, doing word puzzles, reading, going shopping and spending time with her Great Grand Nephews Brian and Mike which she was more of a Mother to than an Aunt. 

She is survived by a niece, Georgine Post., and three great nephews: Michael Jozwiak; Brian Stoyer; and Michael Stoyer. 

Irene was predeceased by four siblings: Helen Jozwiak; Edward Kulasinski; Henry Kulasinski; and Adele Beissel; two nieces: Mary Anne Stoyer; and Carol Kulasinski; and one nephew: Leonard Jozwiak.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, March 21st, 2023, at 12 noon, at Chapel of St. George at Gethsemane Cemetery, 3139 Kutztown Road, Reading, PA 19605. Entombment will follow in the Chapel of St. George. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Irene's honor to St. Peter the Apostle Church, 322 South 5th Street, Reading, PA 19602.
