James Ernest Lisney, 91, of Muhlenberg Township, died June 30, 2024 at Tower Health – Reading Hospital.
He was the widower of Frances P.M. (Hogan) Lisney, who died January 4, 2008.
Born, March 15, 1933, in Croydon, England, he was a son of the late Ernest and Florence (DeWinter) Lisney.
James earned a master’s degree in structural engineering and worked as a structural engineer for over 30 years. He retired from Parsons Corporation after 25 years of service.
He was a member of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, Reading.
An avid reader, James enjoyed playing golf, fishing, and watercolor painting. He also had an eclectic taste in music.
Jim is survived by his five children: Bernadette M. (Lisney), wife of Paul A. Kutch of Shillington; Ivan D. husband of Mary A. (Mell) of Maidencreek Township; Paul A., husband of Julia A. (Hill) Lisney of Cumru Township; Mark T. Lisney of Gap; and Michael J. Lisney of Temple.
Also surviving are his nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
James was preceded in death by his twin sister, Jacqueline Pennell and by his brother, Roy Lisney.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, July 11th at 7 p.m. at Stitzel Family Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc. The family will receive guests from 6-7 p.m. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
