James E. Reilly, known by family and friends as Jim, passed away on Sunday, August 6, 2023 at
Berks Heim Nursing Home, Leesport PA.
He was 87 years old. Jim was predeceased by his wife
of over 50 years Catharine Reilly, his mother Esther (McLaughlin) Reilly, his father Anthony L.
Reilly Sr., his brother Anthony L. Reilly Jr., his sister Marguerite Teman, and his son-in-law
Michael Noll.
He is survived by his son Jim Reilly, husband of Ida Reilly, his daughter Catherine Noll, widow of
Michael Noll, and his son Kevin Reilly. He is also survived by five granddaughters whom he loved
unconditionally: Megan Reilly, wife of Michael Bramson, Amanda Reilly, wife of Pashk Sokoli,
Mary Reilly, Sarah Noll, and Julia Noll, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Jim was born and raised in Allentown, PA. He was very proud of his roots in Allentown as well as
his Irish Catholic Heritage. He loved to sing and enjoyed many years as a choir member at Holy
Guardian Angels Church.
Jim was a graduate of Allentown High School, and of Muhlenberg College. He proudly served in
the US Army for 3 years, including spending 16 months in Alaska, during which time Alaska
became a state.
After his time in the Army, Jim worked at Beryllium Corporation, and for the former Parish
Frame Division of Dana Corporation, working in Purchasing and Materials Management. Jim
retired after 32 years with Parish.
Jim loved spending time with his family, particularly playing games or swimming with his
granddaughters. He was an avid reader with a special interest in history. He enjoyed attending
Civil War Roundtable meetings and visiting Civil War sites with his brother Anthony.
Finally, Jim was a big sports fan. He rooted for all Philadelphia sports teams, particularly the
Eagles and the Phillies.
