James Carroll Waldman, 91, of Temple, died January 7, 2025 at Maidencreek Place.
He was the loving husband of Virginia Annemarie (Farkas) Waldman who he married on May 9, 1981.
Born March 27, 1933, he was a son of the late George Anthony and Martha A. (Brown) Waldman.
James spent 21 years as a brother in the monastery where he worked as a cook. He was also a cook at the Sheraton and Abraham Lincoln Hotel for a number of years. He then worked in manufacturing with Polymer Corporation for 15 years. Lastly, he was employed as a courier with St. Joseph Medical Center for 12 years.
He was a member of Holy Guardian Angels R.C. Church, Muhlenberg Township.
Jim served as a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus, an organization he joined in 1965. He belonged to council 14847 (HGA).
In addition to his wife, surviving is his nephew, Michael Waldman, husband of Karen; his Goddaughter, Regina (Essig), wife of Mark Scanlon and their children Sean and Matthew; and his
"adopted daughter" Christine, wife of Timothy Essig, and their children Brendan, Shannon, Liam, and Ryan.
Jim was preceded in death by his four siblings: Carl Waldman, Anthony Waldman, Richard Waldman, and Loretta Sausen.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, January 14th at 12 p.m. at Holy Guardian Angels R.C. Church, 3121 Kutztown Road, Reading, PA 19605. A viewing will be held from 11-12 in the church. Entombment will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery - Chapel of Resurrection Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Holy Guardian Angels Church, at the above address.
