Jean L. (Dieter) Hafer

Jean Louise (Dieter) Hafer, 86, of Alsace Township, died February 14, 2026 at Penn State Health – St. Joseph. 

She was the widow of Albert Daniel Hafer, Sr., who died in 2012.  

Born January 3, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Lynton Roland and Carrie Mae (Hainley) Dieter. 

Jean was self-employed as a babysitter for many years. 

She was a member of Friedens United Church of Christ, Oley. 

Surviving are her five children: Steven L. Hafer of Mertztown; Pamela J. Wagaman of Laureldale; Brien K. Hafer, husband of Bonnie of Cumru Township; Todd A. Hafer of Joplin, Missouri; and Andrew J. Hafer, husband of Linda of Mohrsville. 

Other survivors include her eight grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. 

Jean was preceded in death by her son, Albert Daniel Hafer, Jr. in 2018, and by three brothers and four sisters. 

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, February 24th at 11 a.m. at Stitzel Family Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 423 Main Street, Oley.  A visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
