Joan Marie (Bowers) Martin

Joan Marie (Bowers) Martin, 72, of Sinking Spring, died December 12, 2023 in Complete Care at Berkshire, Exeter Township, where she had been a guest since November 9th.

Born in Reading, PA on March 30, 1951, she was a daughter of the late Nelson L. Bowers Sr., and Fern V. (Reaser) Bowers.

She was a 1969 graduate of Reading High School.

Joan was employed as a machine operator with Alcon, Sinking Spring for 28 years, before retiring in 2015.

She is survived by a son, Brian C. Martin of Sinking Spring; a grandson, Brandon Murray, husband of Valerie Murray; and a great granddaughter, Madelyn Murray, all of West Lawn.

Other survivors include two sisters: Linda L. (Bowers), widow of Dennis Moyer of Amity Township; and Grace A. (Bowers) Hall of Sinking Spring; and a sister-in-law, Joanne J. (Corvaia) Bowers of Laureldale.

She was predeceased by a brother, Nelson L. Bowers Sr. (1946-2019).

Joan is also survived by her longtime companion and partner, Frank McNamara of Brecknock Township.

Services and burial will be held privately.
