Joanne N. (Niskoch) Grunzig, 86, of Muhlenberg Township, and formerly of Princeton Avenue, Lincoln Park, died March 2, 2024 in Tower Health / Reading Hospital.
She was the widow of Paul Bruno Grunzig (1934 – 2012).
Born in Jersey City, New Jersey on November 25, 1937, she was a daughter of the late William and Mary Rose (Hlopko) Niskoch.
She was employed several years as a waitress with Lincoln Park Fire Company, Spring Township, PA, where she was a life member.
Joanne enjoyed spending her free time with her family and crocheting.
She is survived by a son, Erik P. Grunzig, husband of Marcy (Stump) Owens, of Mohnton.
Joanne is also survived by two grandchildren: Keith E. Grunzig, and Adam J. Grunzig; and two step-grandchildren: Cassy Owens, and Crissa Owens.
She was an aunt to two nephews: Christopher, husband of Jen Niskoch and the late William Niskoch.
Joanne was also the sister to two brothers: William J., husband of Laura Lee (Colton) Niskoch of Neptune, New Jersey, and the late James R. Niskoch (1957 – 2024).
Services will be held privately, and burial will be in Berks County Memorial Gardens, Maidencreek Township.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Veterans Making a Difference, 2412 Spring Street, West Lawn, PA 19609.
