John K. Eckert, 71, died February 8, 2025, in his Pike Township residence, surrounded by his family.
He was the loving husband of Carolyn R. (Manwiller) Eckert, with whom he shared 51 years of marriage.
Born August 30, 1953, he was a son of the late Charles W. Eckert, Jr. and Elda A. (Herbst) Eckert.
John was a 1971 graduate of Oley Valley High School.
He was employed as a Principle Manufacturing Engineer with Viant Medical, LLC, formerly Uniform Tubes, Inc., Collegeville, for 53 years, last working in December.
John was a member of Salem United Church of Christ, Spangsville.
He was also a member of Pike Township Sportsman’s Association.
A true outdoorsman, John loved watching animals and riding his tractor. Another one of John’s favorite pastimes was cooking, but most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his two grandsons.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are his two daughters: Kristina L., wife of Shawn M. Skoog of Bechtelsville and Tammy J. Eckert of Pike Township; his two grandsons, Kody and Tanner; and his brother, Charles W. Eckert, III. of Huffs Church. There are also several nieces and nephews surviving.
John was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Moyer.
Services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Stitzel Family Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 423 Main Street, Oley. Viewings will be held Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. and Friday morning from 10:30-11:00. Burial will be at Hill Church Cemetery, Pike Township.
