John Henry Pfautz

John Henry Pfautz, 94, formerly of Hyde Park, died June 13, 2023 in his daughter’s residence in Lower Alsace Township.

He was the widower of Margaret (Lonaberger) Pfautz, with whom he shared 61 years of marriage.

Born October 7, 1928, in Laureldale, he was a son of the late John William and Florence Anna (Ost) Pfautz.

Henry was a 1947 graduate of Muhlenberg High School.

He was employed as an auto mechanic and auto reconditioner with Lee Heffner Ford and Manderbach Ford, Muhlenberg Township, for 47 years, retiring in 2001.

Henry loved to read.

Surviving are his three children: John Henry Pfautz of Muhlenberg Township; Becky Ann (Pfautz), wife of Michael A. Brossman of Lower Alsace Township; and Mark David Pfautz of Muhlenberg Township.

Also surviving are his three grandchildren: Justin Michael Brossman; Aaron Michael Brossman, husband of Amie L. (Bennett) Brossman; and Krista Marie Brossman, fiancé of Todd S. Hare; and six great grandchildren: Bailey Michael Brossman, Landen Michel Hare, Lilyana Marie Hare, Brayden Michael Brossman, Bennett Michael Brossman, and Brantley Lucas Brossman.

In addition, he is survived by his sister, Florence E. Eben of Topton.

Henry was preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Marie Pfautz, who died in 1957, and by his brother, W. Harold Pfautz.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, June 23rd at 11 a.m. at Stitzel Family Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale.  A viewing will be held from 10-11 a.m.  Burial will follow services at Pleasant View Cemetery, Sinking Spring.
