Jose Santos Briceño Quintanilla, 70, of Laureldale, passed away Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
He was the husband of Darling Pacheco whom he married in 1981,
Born March 6, 1955, he was the son of the late Santos Briceño and Margarita Quintanilla.
Santos attained his masters degree from the National Autonomous University of Nicaragua. He then became a college professor there for a majority of his working years before he moved to the United States in 1985.
In Santos’ free time he enjoyed long walks outside no matter where he was at the time. He had a strong passion for Bob Marley and his music. There would always be reggae or soca music playing in the background. Family was also something that meant the world to him and he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Santos is survived by six children: Yessenia Briceño; Carla Briceño; Jose Raul Briceño; Jose Santos Briceño; Alba Briceño; and Santos Ivan Briceño.
Also surviving are nine grandchildren: Kayla Marcos; Nathalee Marcos; Kaylee Marcos; Karima Pargan; Dylan Pargan; Nyel Marcos; Kiara Briceño; Alessandra Briceño; and Kayden Briceño.
Two great grandchildren are surviving, Avia Colon, and Audrey Huertas.
Surviving are six of Santos’ siblings: Alma Nubia Briceño; Luis Briceño; Yadira Briceño; Vida Briceño; Ondina Briceño; and Jorge Briceño.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, September 20, 2025 at 3 p.m. at the Stitzel Family Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc., Laureldale. A visitation will be held prior at the same location from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.
