Jose Luis Costa

Jose Luis Costa, 85, of Reading, died May 26, 2024 in Tower Health / Reading Hospital.

He was the husband of Maria Fernanda (Beja) Costa.

Born November 28, 1939, in Oliveira, Portugal, he was a son of the late Antonio and Piedade (de Jesus) da Costa.

Jose was employed as a tailor his entire working career. 

He was employed with H. Oritsky, Inc., Reading; Bonton, Wyomissing; and Doneckers, Ephrata before his retirement.

Jose loved to tinker and could fix anything.  The family never needed a repairman when he was around.

He also enjoyed making his own wine and gardening.

Jose is survived by three children: Luis Filipe Costa of Kulpmont, PA; Paula Cristina (Costa), wife of Robert Joseph Ciesinski of Lower Alsace Township; and Todd Michael Costa of Exton, Chester County, PA.

He was the proud grandfather to four grandchildren: Katherine B. Ciesinski, wife of Blake Hartman; Allyson A. Ciesinski; Madison Rickenbach; and Isabella M. Costa.

Other survivors include three siblings: Manuel Costa; Natvidade Costa; and Graca (Costa) Consiglieri, all of Portugal.

He was predeceased by two sisters: Odete Costa and Alzira Costa.

Services will be held privately.
