Judith "Judy" Ann Emerich, 83, passed away Thursday, November 24th, 2022, in Lancaster General Hospital.
She was the beloved wife for 28 years to Harold A. Emerich, who died January, 1987.
Born in Pottstown, she was the daughter of the late Weaver H. and Lena Mae (Shimp) Schearer.
Judy graduated from Amity Consolidated High School in 1956.
She was a long time member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Amityville.
Judy was employed at Penske for over 20 years, retiring in 2007.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Judy enjoyed singing. She sang for the Amityville Choir, and chorus at the county and state levels. Often Judy would be asked to sing at weddings.
Judy played hockey, basketball, baseball, and softball. She also enjoyed cooking and gardening.
She is survived by two children, David P., husband of Sandy Emerich, and James R. Emerich, and two step-children, Joanne Gresham, and Michael Emerich. Five grandchildren: Stephanie Emerich; Courtney Sweigart; Aaron Emerich; Logan Emerich; Connor Emerich; two great grandchildren, Sage Sweigart, and Wyatt Sweigart; a brother, Weaver J. Schearer; and a sister, Patricia L. Radiosky also survive her.
Judy was predeceased by one sister, Mary E. Righter.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, December 7th, 2022, at 11 A.M., at Stitzel Family Funeral Home, 423 Main Street, Oley, PA 19547. Burial will follow in Oley Cemetery, Spangsville. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service in the funeral home from 10 AM to 11 AM.
