Larry Chris Herbst

Larry Chris Herbst, 74, died unexpectedly in his Oley Township residence on June 24, 2024.

He was the husband of Elanore Ann (Essig) Herbst.

Born July 1, 1949 in Pottstown, PA., he was a son of the late Harold A., and Betty Jean (Wismer) Herbst.

Larry was a 1967 graduate of Boyertown High School.

He was a member of Friedens Lutheran Church, Oley, where he was an active volunteer and previously served as the property manager.

Larry was a member of the Jaycees, and a driver for Meals-On-Wheels with Berks Encore.

He enjoyed a long career in various retail stores, retiring as a store manager in 2013.

Larry enjoyed reading, TV, music, and the Philadelphia Eagles.

He was the proud father of two daughters: Kristi L., (Herbst), wife of Eric Dively of Mountville, PA., and Karla A. (Herbst) Sanders of Blandon, PA.

He is also survived by three granddaughters: Libby Sanders, Indigo “Randi” (Eberley) Saleh, and Kierdan Dively.

Other survivors include a younger brother, Alan C., husband of Patti Herbst of Morristown, TN and Kim M., wife of Seth Eberley, of Batesburg, SC who was like a daughter to him.

Memorial Services will be held Friday at 2:00 pm in Friedens Lutheran Church, 1076 Memorial Highway, Oley, PA 19547.

A visitation will be held in the Church from 1:00 - 2:00 pm.

Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Boyertown.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Friedens Lutheran Church at the above address.
