Lewis Leibensperger, Jr. Obituary

Lewis Oliver Leibensperger, Jr., 59, of Ontelaunee Township, passed away on August 14, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

He was the loving husband of Jillian S. Abato-Leibensperger.

Born June 2, 1966, in Reading, he was a son of Edwin M. Lloyd and Linda L. (Hamaker) Lloyd of Elizabethtown.

A 1984 graduate of Muhlenberg High School, he dedicated his life to skilled trades, working as electrician and mechanical technician, and was most recently employed by D.S. Smith.

Lew was a passionate Harley-Davidson motorcyclist, taking him on numerous adventures.  In his leisure moments, he found joy in the quiet of fishing, the thrill of hunting, the art of photography, and the camaraderie of a good game of pool as a proud member of the Hamburg VFW Pool team.  A devoted dog lover, Lew cherished all breeds, having many of them over the course of his life. He enjoyed time spent with his son volunteering at the Animal Rescue League, walking dogs.  His heart, however, belonged to the cabin and land he owned in Bradford County—a place he fondly called “30 Aker Wood,” which remained his lifelong sanctuary.

He will always be lovingly remembered by his family as a loving son, brother, husband, father, and “Pops.”

Left to continue his legacy are his wife, Jillian; his son,  Kyle D., husband of Amanda A. (Kuzmak) Leibensperger of Macungie and their son, Cameron J.; his brother, Gary Lloyd, husband of Sharlene of James Island, SC; his stepsister, Lisa Lloyd of Reading, PA.

He was predeceased by his former wife, Bertha Leibensperger, and his stepbrother, Steven Lloyd.
