Linda Stoudt Obituary

Linda Louise Stoudt, 76, of Port Matilda, Centre County, died March 13, 2024 at Penn State Health - Hershey Medical Center, with her daughter and twin granddaughters by her side.

She was preceded in death by her husband, David B. Stoudt who died in 2007.  They had shared 41 years of marriage.

Born July 19, 1947, in Reading, she was a daughter of the late James C. and Mabel A. (Weidner) Schwoyer.

Linda was a graduate of Oley Valley High School.

She was employed as a gold plater and welder with Western Electric, now AT&T, retiring in 1999.  As a young adult, she worked at the original Boscov’s on Penn Street with Benny Boscov.

Linda enjoyed, and lived for her dogs, whom she considered her four legged children – Cocker Spaniels, Rascal and Bruce, and Welsh pony, Sterling.

A season ticket holder, she loved going to Penn State Football and Hockey games.  She loved all things Penn State, including the Nittany Lion, the Blue Band, cheerleaders, Lionettes, and drum major. On the flip side, she also loved the Notre Dame leprechaun.

Linda loved traveling with her daughter and granddaughters on vacations to Utah, Colorado, Wyoming, Florida, Las Vegas, Chicago, Delaware, the Maryland shore points, the Bahamas, and St. Thomas.  Her favorite trips were to Ireland to see Notre Dame play, going to see the Big 10 Championship Game in Indianapolis in 2015, and the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, CA in 2016.

An avid NASCAR fan, she especially loved rooting for Bill Elliot, Chase Elliot, and Kasey Kahne.  A Philadelphia Eagles fan, she lived to see her favorite Nittany Lion, Saquon Barkley, get signed by the Eagles.  She was also a staunch supporter of the U.S. Armed Forces.

Surviving are her two children: Michelle L. Stoudt of State College and Sean D. Stoudt of Fleetwood, and her “adopted” daughter, Mary Glincosky of State College.

Also surviving are her four grandchildren: Nicholas S. Stoudt, Alexis A. Stoudt, Ainsley A. Stoudt, and Shelby L. Stoudt.
