Margaret Beck Obituary

Margaret A. (Shaud) Beck “Margie” passed away peacefully in her Exeter Township home at the age of 50 surrounded by her loving family on April 26th, 2021. She was born in Reading, Pa., on June 27th, 1970 and was the daughter of Shirley A. and Ronald J. Shaud (Deceased). She was a 1988 graduate of Reading Senior High School. Margie spent the past nine years battling cancer before the disease ultimately overtook her, but her determination and optimistic nature never faltered during that time. The fierce bravery that Margie showed all throughout her life is a testament to the love she had for her family and friends. Indeed, her protective and compassionate light shined in every aspect of her being; she would have gone to the ends of the earth for those she cared about.

More than anything, Margie’s greatest joy in life was being a mother to her daughter Reese. The relentless courage she displayed in the face of adversity was only strengthened by her love for her daughter. Regardless of her condition, she always made sure to put her desire for spending time with Reese above all else, and the two made countless wonderful memories together because of it. They share an unbreakable bond, as Margie was not only Reese’s greatest supporter, but her best friend too.

Margie worked at Santander Bank (formerly Sovereign Bank) for 25 years as a manager in the consumer loan servicing department, a role she selflessly continued to work at up until March of 2021. She enjoyed going on shopping trips with her daughter and friends as well as taking many vacations with her family to Mexico, the Caribbean, Disney World, and day trips to the Jersey Shore. Without a doubt, summertime was her favorite season and the beach was her happy place.

She was also a devoted believer in the power of holistic medicine and spiritual healing. Margie embraced all types of natural energy, and frequently liked to practice Reiki as well as other forms of mindfulness meditation.

In a world filled with polluted things, Margie’s soul was pure and untarnished by her affliction. The divine grace with which she lived her life is nothing short of inspirational. Heaven has truly gained an angel, and her memory will always be a blessing to those who knew her.

Margie is survived by her husband Robin L. Beck (Married August 18th 2007) and her daughter Reese Leigh. She is also survived by her sister Angela M., wife of Mark. A. Heller, and their children Matthew and Andrew of Exeter Township; sister in-law Michelle, wife of Robert Leone of Muhlenberg Township; and her brother-in-law Todd Long of Reading as well as nephews and a niece. She was predeceased by her mother-in-law Sharen Long.
