Marvin Wesner Waid

Marvin Wesner Waid, 92 of Oley passed away October 1, 2024 in Penn State St. Joseph. 

He was the loving husband of Shirley May (Fretz) Waid and they were married for 70 years.

Born September 9, 1932, in Shillington, PA, he was the son of the late William Adam and Mary Ann (Wesner) Waid.

Marvin was a 1950 graduate of Shillington High School and attended Lehigh University for three years.

He was a professional engineer for the majority of his life. Marvin enjoyed woodworking and gifting his finished products to friends and family. His family was truly his first love. 

Surviving in addition to his wife are his children: Barbara Helene, wife of Daniel Laudenslayer of Boyertown; Virginia “Ginny” Darlene, wife of Bret Reifsnyder of Sumter, South Carolina; 

Billie Jo, wife of Leonard “Bud” Quinton of Centerville, Georgia and  M William Paul Waid, husband of Kathleen (Petrucelli) of Spring City, PA.

Also surviving are his twelve grandchildren children: Eliza Laudenslayer, Jed Laudenslayer, Melissa Reifsnyder, Erika (Reifsnyder) Gatiss, wife of Jason Gatiss, Page Quinton wife of Richard Lauer, Chase Quinton, Riley Quinton, husband of Deja (Burr) Quinton, Marcus Waid, Siena Carroll,  Francesca Carroll, Dominic Carroll and Dante Carroll.

Great Grandchildren: Lucy Sayer, Daniel Laudenslayer, Jacen Laudenslayer, Sophya Laudenslayer, Thomas Anderson Jr , Brooke Anderson, Matheu Gatiss, Mikayla Gatiss, and Kailee Gatiss 

He was preceded in death by siblings:  Virginia L. Manwiller and  Wallace James Waid. 

A funeral service will be held Monday, October 7 at 11am at the Stitzel Funeral Home, 423 Main Street, Oley PA 19547. 

A viewing will be held Sunday evening from 4-6 pm from the funeral home and again on Monday morning from 10-11am at the funeral home. 

The service on Monday, October 7th, will be live streamed for those who can’t attend. 

Burial will be in Oley Cemetery following the service.
