Mary C. (Crowley) Kleffel

Mary Catherine (Cowley) Kleffel, 96, of Bern Township, died January 22, 2026 at Tower Health - Reading Hospital.

She was the widow of George E. Kleffel, who died in 2015.

Born January 22, 1930, in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Kyran Cowley and Mamie C. Nye.

Mary was a 1948 graduate of Muhlenberg High School.

She was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church, Laureldale.

Mary was a housewife who loved gardening, a hobby she passed down to her children.  Her favorite pastimes were doing pencil drawings of animals and reading. She also enjoyed camping in Sullivan County.

She is survived by her daughter, Karen L. Kleffel of Bern Township.

Mary was preceded in death by her son, Roy A. Kleffel, who died November 20, 2025; and by her three siblings, Nancy Stewart, Dorothy Sherman, and Leroy Faust.

Graveside services will be held privately at Pleasant View Cemetery, Sinking Spring.  A memorial luncheon will be announced at a later date.
