Maureen P. (Kirn) McIntyre, 83, formerly of Laureldale, entered eternal rest on June 2, 2025, at Tower Health – Reading Hospital.
She was the widow of Thomas P. McIntyre, Sr., who passed in 2001.
Born March 1, 1942, in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Louis M. Kirn, Sr. and Anna G. (Carroll) Kirn.
Maureen was a graduate of Central Catholic High School.
Over the years, Maureen was employed by Vanity Fair, in the fabric department, and Meridian Bank in the operations department, but she dedicated most of her life to her family as a loving wife and mother. She excelled at creating with her hands through baking, cooking, and sewing. Spending time with her family and grandchildren is what she cherished most.
A devout Catholic, Maureen was a member of Holy Guardian Angels R.C. Church, Hyde Park.
Surviving are her three children: Thomas McIntyre, husband of Tracy L. of Reading; Annemarie (McIntyre) Melcher, wife of Rick W. of Wyomissing; and Raymond McIntyre, husband of Sheri L. of Sinking Spring; and her son-in-law, James Gaspari of Lenhartsville.
Also surviving are her six grandchildren: Angela L. Accordino, Amy L. McIntyre, Ryan N. Melcher, Chelsea E. Melcher, Travis M. Melcher, and Jared M. McIntyre; and five great grandchildren.
In addition, she is survived by two siblings: Louis Kirn, Jr., husband of Janice of Leesport and Kathleen Sweigert, wife of Daryl of Bernville; her sister-in-law, Linda Kirn of West Reading, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Maureen was preceded in death by her daughter, Kathleen Gaspari; her grandson, Christopher T. McIntyre; and her brother, Henry Kirn.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, June 9, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Guardian Angels R.C. Church, 3121 Kutztown Road, Reading, PA 196305. A viewing will be held from 9:00-10:30 a.m. in the church. Burial will be at Gethsemane Cemetery, Muhlenberg Township.
