Michael Dobrosky

Michael Leonard Dobrosky, 72, of Muhlenberg Township, passed away on Friday, July 16, 2021 at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida. He was the loving husband to Lois Elaine (Wentzel) Dobrosky, with whom he shared 51 years of marriage. Born in Reading at St. Joseph’s, Michael was the son of Frank John and Mary Helen (Sepela) Dobrosky.

After graduating in 1968 from Reading High School, Michael joined the armed forces and proudly served our country in the United States Air Force as an air traffic controller. After his discharge, he served as a patrolman and evidence technician with the Reading Police Department until his retirement in 2009 for 30 years. Upon retirement from the police work, he continued to work for 10 years as a security guard at the Reading Hospital.

A man of service to his community and his faith, Michael was a devout catholic and member of Holy Guardian Angels RC Church. One of the highlights of his life was seeing the Vatican and Sistine Chapel in person. In addition to serving in the church, Michael was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Police and was an active member of church. He loved to travel and explore.

Surviving, in addition to his spouse, are his two children: Jennifer Michelle, wife of Christopher Krow, of Winter Garden, Florida, and Jeremy Michael Dobrosky, fiancé of Michelle Bopp, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania . He is also survived by his grandson, Sebastian Jack Krow. A brother, Robert Dobrosky, also survives. Michael was preceded in death by his siblings: Marie Helen Dobrosky, and her husband Martin Gyomber, Frank John Dobrosky, Jr., and William Dobrosky.

A viewing will be held on Monday, July 26, 2021 from 9-10:30am at the Stitzel Family Funeral Home & Crematory, 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale. A mass of Christian burial will follow at 11:00am at Holy Guardian Angels RC Church, 3125 Kutztown Road, Hyde Park. Entombment will be at the Gethsemane Cemetery Mausoleum.
