Michael Heller

Michael Joseph Heller, 56, died January 8, 2021, at 5:15 p.m., in his Muhlenberg Township residence, surrounded by his loving wife, Lisa, and his two youngest sons, Austin and Tyler.

He was the loving husband of Lisa Marie (Yeager) Heller, with whom he shared 15 ½ years of marriage.  They celebrated 20 years together on January 7th.

Born, in Reading, he was a son of the late Joseph G. and Victoria A. (Mauger) Heller.

Mike was employed as a truck driver for 36 years, having worked with various companies over the years, including: Hahn Contracting, Pepsi, Windsor Service, and Elk.

He was a member of Rosedale United Church of Christ, Laureldale, where he served on consistory, and assisted the property committee with groundskeeping. 

Mike served as a volunteer firefighter with Lower Alsace Fire Company and was also a member of their social quarters. 

He loved spending time with his family camping at Shady Grove Campground, Denver; he enjoyed fishing with his two younger sons, and loved spending time with his grandchildren, who were the light of his life.  In his younger years, he enjoyed moto cross.

Surviving, in addition to his wife are his five children: Amanda R., wife of Jordan Lau of Orwigsburg, Schuylkill County; Owen M., husband of Aimee E. Heller of Mohrsville; Paige L. Heller of Exeter Township; and Austin B. Heller and Tyler J. Heller, at home in Muhlenberg Township.

Other survivors include his grandchildren: Imogen, Oliver, Isidore, Joseph, Alessa, Vincent, and Isaac.

Also surviving is his sister, Beverly A., wife of Doug LeVan of Oley.

Mike was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Alyssa Marie Heller in 2003.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, January 16th at 2 p.m. at Stitzel Family Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale.  A visitation will be held from 1-2 p.m.   For those unable to attend, or more comfortable not attending, the service will be live streamed.  The video can be accessed at the bottom of Mike’s obituary page, which can be found at Stitzels.com.
