Mildred Irene (Brinker) Nausbaum Shoemaker, 86, died June 17, 2021, in her Earl Township residence, surrounded by her loving family.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, William James Nausbaum, and by her second husband, John Wesley Shoemaker.
Born, October 2, 1934, in Easton, she was a daughter of the late Walter M. Brinker and Viola M. (Gulick) Brinker.
Millie was an alumna of Wilson High School, Easton.
She prided herself in being a good homemaker, enjoying coffee time and cooking excellent meals for her family. The roles she treasured most were wife, mother, and then grandmother.
Later in life, Mildred was the co-owner of the Shoemaker Candle Business, along with her husband, Jack, which they ran for 15 years, retiring in 2005.
Millie was a Godly Christian woman who loved her Lord and was a wealth of advice to all those around her. She taught bible classes in Harmony, NJ. Her wisdom, guidance and love will be what she is remembered for most.
Surviving are her three children: Lisa A., wife of Allen “Bud” Sutter of Oley Township; James W., husband of Jean Nausbaum of Churchville, MD; and Scott T., husband of Mary Beth Nausbaum of Temple. Also surviving are her six grandchildren: William, James, Joshua, Tori, Alex, and Julia.
Mildred is also survived by a brother, Edward Brinker of Williams Township, Northampton County.
She was predeceased by three siblings: Walter Brinker, Emma Jean Huff, and Florence Lutes.
Services will be held on Tuesday, June 22nd at 11:00am at Stitzel Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 423 Main Street, Oley. A visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00am at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Calvary Community Church Cemetery in Harmony, NJ.
