Miriam Troyer, 80, of Alburtis, PA, passed away Thursday, November 27, 2025, at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
She was the widow of Ora Troyer who passed away in 2014.
Born July 11, 1945 in Goshen, IN, she was the daughter of the late Albert Kuhns and Sarah (Mullet) Kuhns.
Surviving are six children: Norma (Troyer) Moyer, wife of Stephen of Reinholds; Robert Troyer of Kutztown; Christina Troyer of Alburtis; Anita Troyer of Alburtis; Jonathan Troyer, companion of Jennifer Rightmyer of Leesport; and Heather (Troyer) Walsh, wife of John of Reinholds.
In Miriam's early years she worked in a shoe factory and was a waitress at a drive-in diner in Indiana then worked as a seamstress at Knoll furniture factory in Pennsylvania. She later went on to become a school bus driver for Quigley for 25 years.
Miriam was heavily involved in Gateway Christian School and its parent church, Living Word Christian Fellowship. She quilted and made strawberry pies for the school sale/auction. She taught Sunday School at the church and was on the school board. Miriam was also busy at home raising six children, babysitting children for many close friends, planting gardens, picking fruit in the orchard, raising chickens, canning and preserving. She also kept her sewing machine whirring, creating outfits for her children. In later years, she kept busy crocheting thousands of washcloths for Operation Christmas Child. She enjoyed taking care of and blessing others. Miriam always put others before herself. She was a faithful follower of Christ and an amazing prayer warrior. Her legacy will live on through her children and all who knew her.
Also surviving are nine grandchildren and one great grandchild.
