Nancy Mae (Gottshall) Reich, passed away November 25, 2024, at the Reading Hospital.
She was the loving wife of the late Richard Leander Reich, with whom she shared 52 years of marriage.
Born January 21, 1932, in Reading, she was the daughter of the late John Samuel Gottshall Sr. and Catherine Harriett (Gilger) Gottshall.
During her working years she was employed at Wixon’s Bakery, Shillington for over 40 years retiring as a wrapper.
Nancy’s main joy in life was her family, more than anything she loved spending time with them and taking day trips with her husband. They would get in the car and see where they’d end up. She also enjoyed gardening and taking care of her flowers. She took pride in having the prettiest flowers on the block.
She was the proud mother of four children: Richard Randall Reich (Jan 5, 1952 ~ April 24, 1952), Lawrence Richard Reich, husband of Desiree (Knapp) of Mountville, PA; Debra Sue (Reich), wife of Rick Ronald Schartel of Wyomissing; and Suzanne Louise (Reich), wife of Brian Lee Hart of Fleetwood.
She is survived by five grandchildren: Ryan Rick Schartel, of Philadelphia; Stephen Charles Reich, husband of Michelle (DiDomenico) of Landisville, PA; Kevin Lawrence Reich of Charleston, SC; Erica Lynn Hart, companion of Matthew Hansan of Philadelphia; and Jeffrey Lee Hart, husband of Angela Marie (Mason) of Dover, DE.
Three step-grandchildren: Kevin Venella, of Smyrna, DE; Kyle Venella, of Lancaster; and Meghan (Venella), wife of William Helzlsouer of Marietta, PA.
Also surviving are five great grandchildren: Riley Reich, Brady Reich, Allie Reich, Elsie Reich, Charlotte Hart. As well as six step-great grandchildren: Michael Venella, Emma Venella, Owen Venella, Quinn Helzlsouer, William Helzlsouer, and Marius Venella.
She is predeceased in death by two siblings, June Louise (Gottshall) Ocksrider and John “Jack” Gottshall Jr.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
