Nina L. (Heffner) Haggerty

Nina L. (Heffner) Haggerty, 77, formerly of Muhlenberg Township, died August 4, 2025 in her Lower Heidelberg Township residence.

She was the wife of John F. Haggerty III, whom she married July 19, 1969.

Born in Reading, PA on July 14, 1948, she was a daughter of the late Howard S. and Margery (Kern) Heffner.

Nina was a 1966 graduate of Muhlenberg High School.

She was a member of Holy Guardian Angels Roman Catholic Church, Hyde Park.

Nina was employed with Carpenter Technology, Reading and last worked as a teacher’s aide and in learning support with the Muhlenberg School District before retiring in 1997. 

She was a very active volunteer with both St. Joseph the Worker School, Orefield, PA, and Holy Guardian Angels School.

Nina enjoyed cruising and was an avid Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles fan.

She especially loved watching her grandkids and attending all of their activities and sporting events.

Nina is also survived by two children: John F. Haggerty, IV, companion of Deb Weber of Allentown and Kelli L. (Haggerty), wife of Dr. Russell E. Emrich of Lower Heidelberg Township.

She was the proud grandmother of four grandchildren: Devon R. Haggerty, John F. “Ian” Haggerty, V; Russell “RJ” Emrich; and Marli E. Emrich.

Nina will be sadly missed by her grand puppy, Bailey.

Other survivors include a brother, Jackson, husband of Sharon Heffner of Spring Township; 2 nieces and 2 nephews.

Nina was predeceased by a sister, Mona Lee Bubbenmoyer.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, August 11th, at 10:00 am in the Chapel of St. George at Gethsemane Cemetery, 3139 Kutztown Road, Muhlenberg Township.
