Patricia Rose Eckels, (Trish) of Douglassville, went home to be with her Savior, Thursday, February 19, 2026, at the Reading Hospital.
She was the daughter of the late Eric Wingham and Amy (Berry). She is survived by her sister Gloria (Carl) and her brother Robert (Jean) Wingham predeceased her.
Patricia was born and raised in England. After marrying the late James Austin, they moved to Canada before moving to Massachusetts. They had four children; Calie (Austin) LaPierre, wife of Michael of Travelers Rest, South Carolina; Mark Austin, husband of Ruth (Chappell) of Ashaway, Rhode Island; Glenn Austin of Meridianville, Alabama; Kirk Austin, husband of Patty ( ) of Meridianville, Alabama.
She later married Frank Magnarelli and they had Wendy (Magnarelli) Sweet, wife of the late Thomas Sweet, of Douglassville, PA.
After committing her life to Christ, she married Charles Eckels, with whom she spent the remainder of her life. She shared four step children with Charles; Shannon (Eckels) Struik, wife of Kent of Farmington, Arkansas; Christopher Eckels, husband of Yolanda of Australia; Jennifer (Eckels) Murray, wife of Mike of Dennis Port, Massachusetts; and Derek Eckels, husband of Sherry of Crane, Missouri.
A life long learner, Trish earned the equivalent of a Bachelors degree through her years of courses. She was employed as an executive secretary for numerous large Technology and Construction companies and spent the majority of her career working for Avery Dennison Company. She also worked as an esthetician while in Massachusetts.
In Patricia's free time she enjoyed staying active. She had a talent for writing and would create beautiful poems and short stories. She also loved reading christian romance novels especially Grace Livingston Hill and Betty Neels. When it was time to travel Patricia would choose anywhere on the East Coast with an ocean. Around the holidays she would bake her famous English Christmas Cake for the family and loved to play games with her family.
She and Charles were blessed with many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Patricia was predeceased by her beloved grandson, James Austin (2011).
A service will be held Saturday, February, 28, 2026, at 11 a.m. at the Stitzel Family Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc., Oley, 423 Main Street, Oley, PA 19547.
A viewing will take place prior from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Burial will follow at Friedens Cemetery.
