ROBERT BERNARD SHER

Robert Bernard Sher, Sr., died September 15, 2018 in his Oley Township residence. He was married June 22, 1990 to Victoria G. (Guertin) Sher.  
They recently celebrated 28 years of marriage.
Born July 10, 1944 in West Reading, PA, he was a son of the late Bernard and Elizabeth (Schwartz) Sher. He was partner in the firm of Sher & Mishkin, Inc., Kutztown, later R. Sher & Sons, Inc., Phoenixville, a family textile company. 
Robert was a Marine Corp Veteran.
He was an avid hunter and hunted many states in the United States as well as South America, Central America and Africa and was always surrounded by his dogs.
Robert is survived by his legacy, his children: Robert B. Sher, Jr., partner of Richard A. Beck, of Philadelphia; James E. Sher, husband of Christie L. Ganas, MD., of Exeter Township and Lisa A. Sher of Wayne, PA as well as their mother, Joan E. Sher.
Other survivors include a sister, Susan S. (Blodgett) Abrahams, wife of Denis M. Abrahams of Wilmington, Delaware and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother John Thomas Mannon Sher.
Services will be held Saturday, September, September 22, 2018 at 11:00 at the Chapel at Charles Evans Cemetery, 1119 Centre Avenue, Reading. A visitation will be held in the Chapel one hour prior to services.
Burial will be in Charles Evans Cemetery, Reading. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting friends and family consider a contribution to the Father Martin Ashley Treatment Center, 800 Tydings Lane, Havre de Grace, Maryland 21078.
