Ramon "Ray" Otero Obituary

Ramon “Ray” Luis Otero, Jr., 57, died February 12, 2025 in his Wyomissing Borough residence.

He was the husband of Lissette Ingles-Otero.

Born September 19, 1967 in Brooklyn, New York, he was a son of Awilda Ortiz-Velez of Guanica, Puerto Rico and the late Ramon Luis Otero, Sr. (1945 – 1987).

Ray was a 1984 graduate of Automotive High School, Queens, New York.

He was employed the last 10 years as a machinist and maintenance lead with Lineage, Trexlertown, last working October, 2024.

Ray enjoyed fishing, building model airplanes and automobiles and loved craft wood through wood burning and woodworking.

He is also survived by a daughter, Tyisha M. Otero-Bueno, wife of Frank Bueno of Wimauma, Florida and was predeceased by his son, Ramon “Ray-Ray” L. Otero III (8/21/1991 - 7/15/2014). Two nieces that he raised and were like daughters to him: Ashley N. Torres and Kaitlyn A. Torres. Stepchildren Jonathan A. Vasquez, husband of Eden Vasquez of Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Nathaniel A. Vasquez, husband of Jazmin Vasquez of Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Clover M. Vasquez of Wyomissing, Pennsylvania.

Three siblings: Annette Otero, wife of Angel Rosa of Palm Bay, Florida; Danny Otero, husband of Dayannara (Duran) Otero of Riverview, Florida; and Emily Melendez Otero, wife of Edwin Rodriquez of Fogelsville.

Ray was the proud grandfather of 12 grandchildren: Tiffany L. Semedey, Ethan A. Bueno, Jacob N. Bueno, Kayden R. Bueno, Lucas A. Bueno, Amelia M. Bueno, Alicea Y.A. Otero, Sarai T. Vasquez, Jon S. Vasquez, Lyla J. Vasquez, Nova L. Vasquez, and Aziel Z. Ramos, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Memorial Services will be held at Ray's home from 3pm to 7pm address is 1701 State Hill Road Wyomissing, PA 19610. Parking is allowed at any blank or unmarked parking spots in the development.  Due to limited parking if none found please go to DSW parking lot directly near apartments. You can go to the far left side of their parking area near the stairs which lead to the apartments.
