Randy Paul Hertzog, 68, of Richmond Township, passed away January 23, 2024, at Penn State Health St. Joseph. He was the loving husband of Lori Kay (Breisch) Hertzog, and they were married for 40 years.
Born September 3, 1955, in Reading, PA, he was the son of the late Paul and Leona D. (Knaut) Hertzog, Jr.
Randy was a 1973 graduate of Reading High School and was employed by Dana Corp for 21 years. He also worked for Penn Detroit Diesel and currently worked for EnerSys.
He had a love for stock and sprint car racing. Randy also did photography for Open When Magazine.
Surviving is his wife, brother-in-law Ronald Allyn, husband of D. Dawn (Sullivan) Breisch of Bern Township; Nephew; Ryan, husband of Jillian Breisch of Sinking Spring; Niece; Sharon, wife of Karl Mueller of Reading; great nephews and nieces: Matthew, Benjamin, Andrew, Karleigh and Faye.
He was preceded in death by his children: Kristen Ann Hertzog and Andrew Justin Hertzog and a great nephew Kyle.
A funeral service will be held Saturday at 4pm at the Stitzel Funeral Home, 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale. A viewing will be held from 1-4pm at the Funeral Home. Burial will be private. Randy has finished his good race; his family is requesting casual racing attire if you would prefer.
In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to: St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital or the Animal Rescue League of Berks County.
