Raymond C. DeMotta

Raymond C. DeMotta, 89, of Oley, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, August 31, 2025, at his residence. 

He was the loving husband of Nancy (Gardiner) DeMotta whom he married on September 26, 1959. 

Born October 6, 1935, he was the son of the late Anthony DeMotta and Maria Elena (Fiorentino).

Raymond was a 1953 graduate of Public School 73 in the Bronx and later went on to obtain his doctorate degree in chiropractics from Columbia Chiropractic College of New York City. 

After finishing school Raymond started his own practice called Mid Island Chiropractic Office in Levittown, NY, where he served the community for 32 years. In his free time, Raymond was an avid woodworker and carver. He spent many years participating as a revolutionary war reenactor. He also spent time outdoors fishing and target shooting with friends. But, what brought him true joy was horseback riding with his wife during their winters in Arizona.

Surviving is one son, Douglas DeMotta, husband of Melissa (Rothermel) of Exeter Township. 

There are also three grandchildren surviving: Erik DeMotta; Elena DeMotta; and Robert DeMotta.

Raymond was predeceased by four siblings: Paula Michaels; Jeanne Miccalizzi; Anthony DeMotta; Frances Michaels.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 6, 2025, at 3 p.m. at the Stitzel Family Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc., Oley. A visitation will be held an hour prior from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the same location. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
