Richard Charles Caplinger, Jr.

Richard Charles Caplinger, Jr., 78, formerly of Temple, passed away, Tuesday, May 24th, 2022, at The Lutheran Home at Topton.
He was the beloved husband of Jean Geneva (Satter) Caplinger who he married November 7, 1964.
Born in Rochester, PA, he was the son of the late Richard Charles, Sr., and Patricia (Schmidley) Caplinger.
Richard was a U.S. Army veteran serving from 1961 - 1964.
He was employed by many battery manufacturers as a battery finisher. Though, he always had fond memories of managing two local Dunkin Donuts.
Richard enjoyed hunting & fishing, attending hockey games at the Hershey Bears, and later Reading Royals. Huge fan of Pittsburgh teams, especially the Steelers. He also loved auctions and collecting sports memorabilia. He enjoyed driving his wife and grandchildren everywhere.
In addition to his wife Jean, Richard is survived by two children, Richard Charles Caplinger, III, husband of David Shaub, Clearwater, FL, and Debra Ann (Caplinger) Hamm, wife of Barry Hamm, Temple, PA. Two grandchildren, Audrey Lynn, and Katrina Marie Hamm, and three siblings: John Caplinger, Jamestown, SC; Karen Hayes, New Brighton, PA; and Iris Cogley, New Brighton, PA also survive him.
Richard was predeceased by a brother, Howard Caplinger.
