Richard W. Ehst, 83, formerly of Rockland Township, passed away peacefully on May 15, 2026. He was the devoted husband of the late Beverly Ann (Moyer) Ehst, who passed away on June 12, 2019.
Born in Reading on January 18, 1943, Richard was the son of the late Melvin H. and Ruth E. (Sanders) Ehst. He was a 1962 graduate of Mount Penn High School and proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict.
Richard dedicated his entire working career to the Lower Alsace Water Company, which later became Citizens Utilities Water Company of Penn. Through years of hard work and commitment, he advanced to the position of supervisor before retiring in 1999.
A former member of Zion Spies Evangelical Church in Alsace Township, Richard enjoyed a life centered around family, hard work, and his many passions. He was an avid Philadelphia Phillies fan, a lover of dogs, and happiest when spending time outdoors. Street rods were truly the passion of his life, and he took great pride in owning, restoring, and maintaining countless cars and tractors over the years. He and Beverly also shared many happy times antiquing together.
