Richard Stanley Haas, 89, passed away June 30, 2025 in his Colebrookdale Township residence.
He was the loving husband of Anna Marlene (Moyer) Haas, whom he married October 1, 1983. When Richard married the love of his life, he also embraced the role of a father to her six children, raising them as his own with unwavering dedication, patience, and love. As the family grew, Richard became affectionately known as "Pappy" to a new generation—his grandchildren—whom he cherished deeply.
Born February 17, 1936, in Pleasantville, he was a son of the late Herbert and Rosa (Trout) Haas.
Richard retired from Boyertown Body Works, where he worked as an auto-body technician for 30 years.
He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Pleasantville.
Richard was a member of Boyertown Rod & Gun Club and a devoted Phillies fan. He found joy in the outdoors, especially through his love of hunting. Above all, he held a special place in his heart for all his grandchildren, especially Madison, affectionately known as his “girl,’ who brought light and laughter into his life.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are his five children: C. Patricia Erb, wife of Gene F. of Barto; Fern R. Royer of Gilbertsville; Robert Roth, husband of Linda of Bechtelsville; Ellen F. Watt, wife of Rick of Oley; and Juanita T.R. McDonald of Boyertown; and his daughter-in-law, Cheryl A. Roth of Pottstown.
Other survivors include his 15 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Richard was predeceased by his son, Ricky L. Roth; his granddaughter, Lisa Sands; his grandson, James Eshbach; his great grandson, Brendan Traylor; and his ten siblings: Elmer, Herbert, Ernest, Leon, Harold, Earl, Paul, Edward, Mabel, and Betty.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
Stitzel Family Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., Oley, is in charge of arrangements.
