Robert Lee Gehret

Robert Lee Gehret, 68, formerly of Reading, died January 23, 2024 in Sinking Spring Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born July 17, 1955 in Reading, PA, he was a son of Anna E. (Cooling) Gehret of Laureldale and the late Irvin E.W. Gehret

He attended Muhlenberg High School.

Robert was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam Conflict.

He was last employed as a truck driver with Palmer Candy, Reading.

Robert enjoyed riding his Harley and taking his dog to Dietrich’s park.

He is also survived by a daughter, Patrice (Prutzman), wife of David DiMaio and a granddaughter, Samantha Gonzalez.

Other survivors include his younger sister, Susan L. (Gehret), wife of Paul R. Grimes of Lower Heidelberg Township; and a nephew, Michael J., husband of Ashley Andrews and their children; Brooke, Chase, and Carlee.

Robert will be deeply missed by his faithful dog, Buddy.

Services and burial will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, a fund is being set up in order to have a bench, in his name, installed in Dietrich's Park, Muhlenberg Township.  When the fund is established, it will be updated on this site.
