Obituary
Robert Evan Leister, 86, formerly of Laureldale, died July 30, 2002 at Country Meadows, Wyomissing.
He was the widower of Eleanor D. Leister, who passed away on January 30, 2022.
Born April 10, 1936, in Reading, he was the son of the late Paul and Florence (Beam) Leister.
Bob was a 1954 graduate of Reading High School. After graduation he became the third generation of Leisters to work at UGI, and that is also where he met Eleanor. He was employed for 38 years, retiring in 1992 as a customer service supervisor.
He and Eleanor enjoyed boating, fishing and crabbing at their house in Rehoboth Beach, DE. After selling their beach house, their new hobby became bus trips to the casinos in Atlantic City and Bethlehem.
Bob was not an outwardly emotional man, but there was no doubt of the love he had for his family. He consistently provided for them and fiercely protected them. He was hard-working and a fine example of quiet and steadfast dedication.
He is survived by his daughter, Lara K. Leister, wife of Rory C. Knosp of Shillington, and his grandson Trevor Knosp.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Stitzel Family Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., Reading is in charge of arrangements.
