Robert Wesley Poole, 92, of District Township, passed away peacefully, on March 6, 2024 at Lehigh Valley Hospice, Allentown.
He was the loving husband of Claude J. (Guerin) Poole; they would’ve celebrated 60 years of marriage on April 25th.
Born October 22, 1931, in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late Ray and Emma (Myers) Poole.
Robert was a graduate of Central High School, Philadelphia, and a 1953 graduate of Wharton School, with a BS in economics.
He served in the U.S. Air Force Reserves from 1953-1956.
Robert was employed with Honeywell, Maryland, from 1956-1962. He then became a partner at Judson A. Smith Company, Boyertown for a number of years, and subsequently, was employed as an accountant with Reading Area Community College from which he retired.
Robert was a master bridge player, which he played for many years.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are his two children: Eric R. Poole of Allentown and Michelè M. (Poole), wife of Christopher A. Sinclair of Pottstown.
Also surviving are his two grandchildren, Dylan and Kiara Poole.
There are also two nieces surviving: Grace Ellen, wife of Alex Benn, and their children Abby and Caroline Jane; and Joanne, wife of Steven Reese.
Robert was preceded in death by his two brothers, Thomas Poole and Donald Poole.
