Robert William “Bob” Wright, 76, of Birdsboro, died November 7, 2024 at York Hospital.
He was the loving husband of Carol Ann (Hughes) Wright, whom he married on September 14, 1975.
Born December 1, 1947, in Seneca Falls, NY, he was a son of the late Almon Alexander and Edna Louise (Coon) Wright.
Bob was a 1967 graduate of Charles O. Dickerson High School in Trumansburg, New York.
Following graduation, he proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy aboard the Guided Missile Cruiser USS Columbus during the Vietnam War.
Bob later pursued Biblical studies at Word of Life Bible Institute in New York and Citadel Bible College in Arkansas.
He was employed by Overnite Transportation Company as a truck driver. During his 32 years of service, he earned the status of senior road driver and achieved three million miles of safe driving.
Bob enjoyed spending time in his garden.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are his three sons: David I. Wright, husband of Juliana (Gingrich) of Mackville, Kentucky; Joshua A. Wright, husband of Jennell (Snyder) of Wyomissing; and Jeremiah S. Wright, husband of Joanna (Yunginger) of Birdsboro.
In addition, there are two grandchildren, Wyatt (son of David and Juliana) and Isabella (daughter of Jeremiah and Joanna).
Other survivors include his three siblings: Marian Isaacs, wife of Earl of Campbell, New York; Richard Wright, husband of Verna of Norfolk, VA; and Steve Wright, husband of Susan of Hollow Rock, TN.
Bob was preceded in death by his sister, Alma Compton and her husband, Floyd; and by his brothers, Charles, widower of Sarah; Edwin, and Bruce.
Services will be held Saturday, November 16, 2024 at Frieden’s United Church of Christ, Oley. A viewing will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Burial will follow the service at Frieden’s Cemetery, Oley.
