It is with great sadness that the family of Sandina Eppenstein announces her passing, at the age of 93. Sandy, passed away, surrounded by her loving husband Ed and family, on February 3, 2024 in their Millmont residence.
Born on May 4, 1930, she was a daughter of the late Guerino and Rosa Balsamini of Temple.
Sandy, who spent most of her life in East Reading, was known by many as “Mrs. Epp”. She was so many things to all her neighbors, children’s friends, and the many who gravitated to her due to her open heart. Sandy was extremely active in her church and was a friend and counselor to anyone who knew her. She was extremely selfless and was always there to help anyone who needed support or prayer. She was well-known for her incredible cooking, her quick sense of humor, and for having such a big personality for such a small person. She enjoyed traveling with friends, taking care of her family, dining out, and praising the Lord. Survivors include her devoted husband of 68 years, Edward J.; her daughter, Rebecca (Becky) Quell; her son Ed and daughter-in-law Christina; her son, Jim (pre-deceased by wife Debbie who passed in 2022) and grandchildren, Katie, wife of Kyle Hawkins and Austin, husband of Angela. There are also five great grandchildren, Khloe, Karter, Kai, Luke, and June. She is also survived by her sister, Elsie Iezzi.
Sandy was preceded in death by her beloved 21-year-old son, Michael, who passed away in 1973, who she missed every single day. Her sister, Laura Zalenski, and her best friend of over 60 years, Isabelle (Sis) Gring. Sandy was loved by all who had the honor of knowing her.
Although she will be missed every day, she is in heaven where she will be watching over us all, and rejoicing with everyone that she has been waiting to see again.
