Sandra Ann Skuczas, 72, formerly of Blandon, passed away Sunday, January 15th, 2023, in Willow Brook Healthcare Center.
She was the beloved wife of Larry V. Skuczas, to whom she married June 5th, 1976.
Born in Hamburg, she is the daughter of the late Myles Herbert, Sr., and Anna Mae (Seyfert) Wagner.
Sandra was a graduate of Hamburg Area High School and later graduated from Philadelphia General Hospital School of Nursing, earning her RN.
She worked as a registered nurse for many years spending her last 26 years of work at Berks Heim until her retirement in 2004.
Sandra was an extremely social person who loved all animals, especially horses and dogs.
She was a member of Maidencreek Lutheran Church where she sang on the choir for thirteen years.
Sandra was the past president of Blandon Fire Association for many years and also started the Retired Nurses Lunch Club.
In addition to her husband Larry, Sandra is survived by one son, Christopher A., husband of Jennifer M. Skuczas, Laurel, DE. Five grandchildren: Haley I., wife of John Lopez, Bernville; Bethany L. Skuczas, Blandon; Victoria E. Skuczas, Laurel, DE; Alexander G. Skuczas, Laurel, DE; and Zachary E. Skuczas, Blandon; and three great grandchildren: Gianni M. Lopez, Bernville; Madelyn R. Lopez, Bernville; and Emma M. Lopez, Bernville, also survive her. Also surviving her are six siblings: Barry, husband of Dorothy Wagner, Shoemakersville; Joan, wife of Tom Shiner, Wyomissing; Dale, husband of Denise Wagner, Mohrsville; Myles Jr., husband of Betty Wagner, Fleetwood; Karlene, wife of John Olmstead, Mertztown; and Dean Wagner, Coplay.
Sandra was predeceased by a son, Gregory M. Skuczas, July 7th, 2011, two siblings, Brenda B. Krick, and Lynn R. Wagner, and three nephews: Rodney, Jody, and Jason.
A funeral service will be held Friday, January 20th, 2023, at 2 P.M., at Stitzel Family Funeral Home, 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale, PA 19605. Burial will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery, Hamburg. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 1 P.M. to 2 P.M. in the funeral home.
