Shirley M. Oswald, 89, died December 14, 2024 in her Oley Township residence.
She was the widow of Walter Ralph Oswald who died in 2004.
Born March 2, 1935, in Oley, she was a daughter of the late Wayne Delp and Minnie E. (Heffner) Readinger.
Shirley was employed as a cafeteria worker with Oley High School for 21 years.
She enjoyed doing ceramics, which she did with her sister for many years; she loved going to church bazaars, but most of all enjoyed spending time with her family.
Surviving is her son, Michael A. Oswald of Oley Township; her grandsons, Anthony M. Oswald, and his partner, Taylor Suzenski of Douglassville and Adam M. Oswald, husband of Hayley (Swartz) of Oley Township, and her two great grandchildren, Jebidiah and Ellie.
In addition, she is survived by her niece, Sue Creed, and her cousin, Carol Reifsnyder.
Shirley was preceded in death by her three siblings: Paul Lee, Eugene Readinger and Betty Eckert Boyer.
Services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Stitzel Family Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 423 Main Street, Oley. A viewing will be held from 10-11 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Friedens Cemetery.
